Who Were The Vikings?
They were fierce uncivilized warriors and pirates who attacked and created havoc on the Christian countries of Europe from the 8th to the 11th century. The Vikings were from 3 countries: Denmark Norway, and Sweden but altogether they were one group of Vikings, The word Viking means fighting. Vikings were amongst the fiercest warriors ever known. The Vikings were also Scandinavian farmers, fishers, herders and pirates whose raids and invasions from Russia to North America between roughly, 800-1000 AD, helped shape the medieval period of the region.
